The property, former state property in '57, was entrusted to the Department from 1969 to BAAAS Aquila. The first museum exhibition, with an exhibition of archival documents, photographs and memorabilia from the Vittoriale Gardone Riviera, was built by the "Fondazione d'Annunzio", on the occasion of the exhibition "The Abruzzo in the life and work of Gabriele d 'Annunzio ", opened in 1963 and edited by M. Masci and D. Tiboni. This exposure was kept until 1993 when, during restoration work inside the museum, it was possible to organize a new museum, with accommodation information panels where you can find news about the family of the poet, enriched with literary references and photographs, and reconstruction of the events that saw him star of sensational episodes during the First World War and of the Fiume. Are also illustrated countries and parts of Abruzzo that d'Annunzio Cortileha treated in his literary works and the artists who have been linked with feelings of deep friendship, as the painter Francesco Paolo Michetti and parts of the Upper Room in Francavilla al Mare. Other panels are devoted to the historical and architectural reconstruction of the ancient fortress of Pescara and its subsequent urban development until the unification in 1927 with the near Castellammare Adriatico, thanks to the intervention of the Poet. The tour includes the visit of the individual rooms of the "house-museums" that retain furniture and antique furniture and wall decorations of particular artistic value. Each room is illustrated with a caption that once again those songs of "Night" in which the poet recalls with words full of feeling both environments and objects and people dear to him.
